美容外科专科，学科自20世纪60年代起，开展美容外科手术，是我国美容外科发源地和教学中心。1985年初，举办全国首个美容外科进修班。1988年，张涤生主编出版我国第一部《实用美容外科学》。90年代以来，学科在内窥镜年轻化治疗、自体脂肪移植、腹壁整形以及乳房整形、眼鼻整形治疗领域与世界领先水平同步发展。在皮肤医学美容、激光美容、微创美容等具有丰富临床经验。遵循自然，个性化和美学相结合的理念，经典和现代美学观念与美容外科技术相结合，形成了独特的上海九院风格。在乳房整形继发畸形治疗方面，拥有独创技术，达到国际领先水平。干细胞治疗上拥有基础加临床的双重优势。
目前，专科主任为余力、刘凯。该专科能开展头面部、躯体、四肢及会阴部的全部美容治疗项目，并在治疗的药物、设备和技术研发上，力争引领行业。学科已累积完成美容外科手术治疗逾50万例，是享誉国内、外的美容外科及综合治疗中心。已累积为全国培养医生千余名，是我国美容外科主要的教学与科研中心。
Since 1960s, aesthetic surgery division has been the origin and education center of aesthetic surgery in China. In the beginning of 1985, the first aesthetic surgery further training program was held in China. In 1988, Prof. Disheng Zhang published the first professional book named as Practical Aesthetic Surgery in China. Since the 1990s, the disciplines of endoscopic facial rejuvenation treatment, autogenous fat transplantation, abdominal wall plastic surgery and breast plastic surgery and blepharoplasty & rhinoplasty have developed simultaneously with the world's advanced level. Abundant clinical experience is obtained in skin medical cosmetology, laser cosmetology, minimally invasive cosmetology etc. A unique style of Shanghai 9th People’s Hospital has been established, following the concept of combination of nature, individuation with aesthetics and integration of the classic and modern aesthetic conception with aesthetic surgery technology. Unique surgical technique has been established in the treatment of secondary deformity of breast plastic surgery which has stepped onto the international leading level. Stem cell therapy holds both basic science and clinical experience advantages.
At present, the aesthetic surgery division can perform all the aesthetic surgery treatment covering all the anatomical region of the human body. Meanwhile, the division is striving to lead the aesthetic industry in the research and development of drugs, equipment and treating technology. More than 500000 cases of aesthetic surgery and treatment have been completed in our division. The division is now an aesthetic surgery and comprehensive treatment center which is well-known domestic and abroad. It has cultivated more than one thousand physicians for the whole country, and is the main teaching and research center of aesthetic surgery in China.
